How to upload media straight to your OnlyFans vault (without posting it first)
If you have searched for how to upload to the OnlyFans vault, you have probably noticed the problem: there is no simple "upload to vault" button. Creators ask about it constantly, and the answers they find are workarounds.
This article explains why the vault fills up the way it does, what the workarounds cost you, and how to load a large library directly.
Why this is harder than it should be
On most creator tools, a media library is the place you upload to first and publish from later. In the OnlyFans vault, media usually gets in the other way around: you post it, schedule it or send it, and it lands in the vault as a result.
That is fine when you are publishing one thing. It is slow when you want to:
- Load a backlog of existing content into a new or rebuilt account
- Prepare PPV media in advance without sending it to anyone
- Put the same files into several accounts
- Restore media that you deleted from the vault but still have on your computer
The common workarounds
Post it, then delete the post
Schedule a post far in the future, or publish it and delete it right away. The media stays in the vault. It works, but it is easy to publish by accident, and every file costs several clicks.
Message it to yourself
Many creators send media in a message to a second account they own, such as a free account or a test account. Media you send ends up in the vault of the account it was sent from. It avoids publishing, but you need a second account, you have to be careful which account you are logged in to, and it is a one-by-one process.
Upload it where the platform allows
Whatever you upload, the platform limits how much you can add at once. If you have hundreds or thousands of files, you end up doing it in many small rounds and checking each one.
All three work for a handful of files. None of them scale to a real library.
Uploading directly with OnlyVault
OnlyVault is a desktop app that writes media straight into the vault, with no posting, scheduling or messaging in between. You never share a password: you sign in on the platform's own website inside the app, and the session is stored encrypted on your computer.
The flow:
- Bind the creator account. Log in once inside OnlyVault.
- Open the vault for that account and choose Upload.
- Choose files or a whole folder, or drag them in. Photos, videos, GIFs and audio are supported.
- Pick the list the media should go into. Lists you do not have yet can be created first.
- Start the upload. It runs in the background, so you can keep working.
A few details that make large uploads easier:
- A single selection takes up to 2,000 files. For larger libraries, upload folder by folder.
- Files that are already in the account's vault are skipped, so re-running an upload does not create duplicates.
- You can upload the same files to other accounts in the same step, instead of repeating the process per account.
- Uploads show up in a task list where you can pause, resume, cancel and retry failed items.
Prepare your folder first
The upload is only as tidy as the folder it comes from. Before you start:
- Sort files into one folder per list. Upload each folder into its matching list.
- Rename files the way you will search for them: shoot, outfit, theme, date.
- Remove duplicates and rough cuts on your computer. It is much faster than doing it in the vault afterwards.
- Keep a master copy of the originals outside the platform. Images and videos in the vault usually carry your watermark, so the vault is not a replacement for your clean files.
Large libraries and agencies
If you are moving a big backlog, work in this order:
- Upload one small folder first and check it in the vault.
- Upload the rest folder by folder, each into its own list.
- Watch the task list for failed items and retry them.
- When you are happy, run a cleanup of anything that should not be there. See how to keep a vault organized.
For agencies, the benefit is doing this once for many pages instead of logging in and out of each one.
FAQ
Is there a button to upload directly to the OnlyFans vault?
Not on the platform itself. Media normally reaches the vault by being posted or sent, which is why creators use workarounds. OnlyVault writes media directly into the vault.
Will uploading to the vault publish anything to my fans?
No. Uploading to the vault only adds media to your library. Nothing is posted or sent until you use it in a post or message.
Is there a limit on how many files I can upload?
OnlyFans limits how much you can upload at once, so large libraries have to go in batches. OnlyVault does not limit how many files or lists an account can have, and one selection takes up to 2,000 files.
What happens if I upload a file that is already in the vault?
OnlyVault skips files that are already in the account's vault, so you do not end up with duplicates.
Do I have to share my password to use OnlyVault?
No. You sign in on the platform's own website inside the app. The session is stored encrypted on your computer and is not sent to OnlyVault's servers.
